Game Info and Rules for all ICGL Games

01.Playing Handicap

Your playing handicap will be pre-loaded on the ScoreCapture App and must not be changed. Your playing handicap will be the lower of your ICGL Handicap or Official Handicap.

02.Pace of Play

Your correct position in the field is directly behind the team in front of you.

03.Putting

Once you start putting, you must put out. If you are unable to score, pick up your ball and proceed to the next hole.

04.Giving Putts

As this is a league competition, giving putts is not permitted.

05.Scoring

The maximum score to record on the ScoreCapture App is 2 over par, irrespective of your playing handicap. Do not select the "Pick Up" option on the app, as this will reduce the team's point allocation.

06.Placing

A standard one-club-length placing is permitted on fairways only, irrespective of the local club rules in place.

07.Bush (Lateral Hazard)

All bush is to be played as a lateral hazard (red stakes). Relief may be taken under Rule 17.1b:

  • Drop within two club lengths of the point of entry, no nearer the pin, with a one-stroke penalty.
  • Play from the original spot with a one-stroke penalty.
  • Take back-on-the-line relief, keeping the line from the pin through the point of entry as far back as required, with a one-stroke penalty.

Important: This rule does not apply to areas marked with white stakes, which are deemed to be out of bounds.

08.Carts

Please contact the host club directly to book a golf cart for your team.

09.Prize Giving

We encourage all teams to stay for prize giving. A R200 Team Attendance Prize will be drawn, and both players must be present to qualify and claim the prize.

10.Prizes

Unclaimed prizes must be collected from the Captain or Vice-Captain by the next game. Any prizes not collected within this period will be forfeited and used as prizes at future ICGL competitions.
